D.Y. Entertainment (D.Y.) was founded by Steve Chemont in 2003 as an Entertainment Retail Store located at Plaza 21, Backstreet, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten; located in the Dutch Caribbean of the Lesser Antilles. Between 2007- 2008, D.Y. released a mixtape titled “Das Me” by Jackman, which spawned the radio hit single “Wahappin Dere” and it became the #1 hit song on the “Teen Times Loud N’ Loving It” radio show on Laser 101 on St. Maarten.

D.Y. Entertainment (Steve Chemont), is the owner of the “I FROM HERE” clothing line brand, which is globally trademarked. Collaborator of the clothing line is DJ Mr. Perfect, who is also one of the original members of the Dutch Yardeez group. D.Y. is also notarized as a foundation, and in addition, D.Y. branched out in 2012 and officially launched an Independent Record Label and Artist Management service. D.Y. as a label and artist management service, are registered and notarized at a St. Maarten Notary Department. D.Y. has also established their publishing company called “I From Here Music Publishing,” which is registered by ASCAP — one of the top three American PRO’s for performance royalties. They immediately began working with Hip-Hop Artist Tha Hot$hot and released his second mixtape called “Swagger 101 Vol. 2: From Local to Global” hosted by DJ Wikked from Toronto, Canada. This mixtape made him the first St. Maartener to gain over 50,000 views and 4,000 downloads on the popular Hip-Hop website Datpiff; Furthermore, he was awarded "Best Male Rap Artist” at the 2012 SXM Music Awards.

On September 13th, 2013, D.Y. officially signed Tha Hot$hot to a recording and artist management contract. Tha Hot$hot, as a Recording Artist and Performer is registered and licensed by BMI (one of the top three American Performance Rights Organizations [PRO] in the USA). His first music video for his hit single “Reppin’ It,” made its debut at the #1 spot on the Caribbean television network, TEMPO Networks' Cross Caribbean Countdown — and lasted at #1 for six consecutive weeks. It remained on the countdown for a total of six months, marking Tha Hot$hot as the first artist out of St. Maarten to do so. They then went on to release more music videos (i.e., “Take Me Out” feat. Janice and Big Blacks, “Wide Awake,” “Tropical Limelight” and most recently “Out With A Bang”). His music videos can be viewed on YouTube.com/ThaHotshotVEVO and YouTube.com/thahotshotreal.

The first music video of his first official single “Tropical Limelight” landed at #3 in its debut on the Cross Caribbean Countdown on TEMPO Networks. He became the only St. Maarten artist to debut in the TOP 3 on two separate occasions, and to also secure a TOP 3 position with three different videos. The video then went on to capture the #1 position in its sixth and seventh week on the countdown, before being retired at #3 in its eighth and final week. This made him the only St. Maarten artist to remain at #1 with two different videos for consecutive weeks.

Following the contract signing, Tha Hot$hot’s second official single was released on June 10th, 2014, called “Tropical Limelight” (Remix), featuring the Dancehall Artiste Konshens and songstress Stekaly Tha Singer. He became the first St. Maarten artist to feature the Dancehall star, and since then, the single has been on rotation on many different radio stations throughout the Caribbean and across the globe. The single can be found on digital music stores (i.e., iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and many others). D.Y. then released Tha Hotshot’s third mixtape titled “Anticipation For Greatness” on August 12th, 2014, hosted by the world famous DJ Smallz. DJ Smallz is the tour DJ of the international Rapper, Yo Gotti, and is the CEO of the Southern Smoke Brand. Tha Hot$hot became the first Recording Artist from St. Maarten to work with DJ Smallz, — one of the top Hip-Hop Mixtape DJs in the world.

In March of 2015, Tha Hot$hot became one of only a few artists from St. Maarten to have his music video featured on the well-known Hip-Hop website “WorldStarHipHop.” The music video of his single “Out With A Bang,” which comes off his “Anticipation For Greatness” mixtape was premiered on the website. Following the premiere, his “‎Tropical Limelight” single charted at #59 on the “Urban Charts” of ChartBase in Denmark. The Chart is based on several international urban-charts and the biggest mainstream urban-hits in the world. Both Tha Hot$hot and D.Y. stepped into the history books after Tha Hot$hot was booked as an opening performer for Lil' Wayne, Rich Homie Quan, Lil' Dicky and K. Camp, at the “Dope Music Festival” in Everett, Washington on December 18th, 2015. D.Y. Entertainment Independent Record Label and Management established a settlement with a booking agency based in New York, which gave Tha Hot$hot the opportunity to open for his first show in the USA, and will also provide more shows both regional and internationally.
